Saratoga Springs Attractions
     A wide variety of activities and attractions make Saratoga Springs a unique four-seasons destination. Visitors enjoy polo, walking tours, golf, and more than 85 restaurants and boutiques. The Saratoga Children's Museum offers hands-on exhibits for youngsters two to ten. At the Saratoga Spa State Park, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center serves as the summer home of the New York City Ballet, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Lake George Opera. During the winter months, crosscountry skiing and snowshoeing beckon enthusiasts to woodland trails. Saratoga Springs offers an exceptional range of attractions, including the arts, equine sports, museums and a wealth of history, golf, and outdoor sports.
The Arts
     The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is the summer home of the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. Plus, the annual Jazz Fest and the FYE Summer Concert series bring artists like Herbie Hancock, Carole King, Sting, Josh Groban, and Norah Jones to SPAC for all to enjoy.
     Other attractions include the Saratoga County Art Center, located on Broadway, at the corner of Congress Park. Broadway offers a number of art galleries.
      The Beekman St. Art District, located a few blocks west of Broadway, features artist galleries, studios, shops, restaurants.

Equine Sports
     Saratoga Springs is best known for it's Thoroughbred flat track horse racing and the world renowned Saratoga Race Course. During the Civil War, three millionaires built the Saratoga Race Track and sponsored the first running of the Travers Cup, America's oldest racing event. More than a century later, the track - where the original Victorian grandstand is still in use - remains one of the town's most popular attractions. Racing season extends from late July through August every year. The National Museum of Racing, which contains artwork and racing memorabilia, is conveniently located just across the street. There's also harness racing at the Saratoga Raceway and world class polo. Saratoga Polo is one of the four oldest clubs in the nation dating back to 1898. The Saratoga Harness Museum and Hall of Fame. Housed on the grounds of Saratoga Raceway. Open seasonally. 518-587-4210. There is also a library that chronicles the history of Standardbred racing.
Explore History
     A showplace of Gilded Age architecture, thecity includes 900 buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places. A member of the National Trust's National Main Street Program, Saratoga Springs has worked successfully for many years to revitalize its downtown and preserve its Greek Revival, Gothic Revival and Queen Anne buildings.
Saratoga Springs offers some of the most interesting historic museums and exhibits in northeastern New York.
      Battlefields, including the Battle of Saratoga, homesteads, monuments, military encampments and settlements offer wonderful opportunities to explore history. During the Revolutionary War, Saratoga was the site of the battle known as "the turning point of the American Revolution." at The Battle of Saratoga and is one of the great attractions near Saratoga Springs. The historic Saratoga battlefield site and monument are located in nearby Stillwater, a neighbor of Saratoga.
      And the Grant Cottage State Historic Site, where Ulysses S. Grant spent his final days writing his memoirs is nearby, is open for visitors during the summer months not far from Saratoga Springs.
      There's also the Crandall Public Library Center for Folklife in nearby Glens Falls, NY.

     Saratoga Springs and the surrounding area feature over 20 golf courses in every price range within a thirty minute drive. Located within Saratoga Springsis Saratoga National Golf Course, a links style course, as well as Saratoga Spa Golf, which features a Robert Trent Jones masterpiece that is both accessible and affordable.

     Saratoga Springs is the home of historic Congress Park, right downtown. And in addition to being the home of the Saratoga Spa State Park, Saratoga Springs is located at the edge of the Adirondack Mountain State Park and provides easy access to the many outdoors activities near Saratoga. The Adirondack Park consists of over six million acres and is larger than the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or Yosemite. In total, the Adirondack State Park covers nearly one fifth of the state of New York. The scenic Hudson River is nearby, offering lots of recreational opportunities. Mountain biking or hiking, water skiing, fishing, boating or whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and downhill or cross country skiing are all available close to the city.
Congress Park.
Yaddo Gardens. The Yaddo Gardens are open daily dawn to dusk, free of charge. A formal rose garden and an informal rock garden feature turn-of-the-century fountains and statues. The Gardens are the only part of the Yaddo estate open to the public.
Petrified Sea Gardens. Three miles west of Saratoga Springs off Rt. 29.

Bog Meadow Nature Trail. A walk though wetlands along an abandoned trolley track.
